Job Summary

We are looking for a Product Owner to join our Sales & Marketing team, and work on our cutting edge 5G switching products. This is a highly technical position that requires the individual to be an expert in Radio Access Network (RAN) technologies and LAN switching technologies, while at the same time the Product Owner is responsible for driving the product definition, and new development management of the 5G Fronthaul product line. This Individual is responsible for leading interaction with every organization responsible for the development, production, marketing, sales and service. They assure successful business results for that product line by satisfying customer needs.

What you’ll do

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Canoga’s new 5G Product line:

  • Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs, anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
  • Contributes to team effort by delivering related results as needed.
  • Through comprehensive knowledge of market, competitive landscape, customer requirements, distribution channels and Canoga 5G offerings, anticipates market and customer requirements.
  • Articulate product positioning and competitive positioning for 5G offerings.
  • Converts analysis into coherent market requirements that defines product form, fit and function including functionality and feature prioritization, cost, sales volume and profitability expectations and expected competitive response.
  • Owns product lifecycle management for assigned product lines including tactical execution, managing custom requirements, developing and driving end of life plans and execution of inventory objectives.
  • Collaborates with product team members to define the product vision and product strategy
  • Researches the target market and buyer persona.
  • Developing the product roadmap and product requirements, in the form of a Product Requirements document that fits in with the overall strategy of the department and the company.
  • Analyzes data for problems and potential solutions.
  • Works with other departments to ensure product deadlines are met.
  • Prepares product launches.
  • Works with the developers to deliver quality features and products within the expected timeline
  • Reviews engineering specifications and provides feedback to ensure product aligns with company strategy.

What we’re looking for

The successful candidate will have experience in or knowledge of:

  • O-RAN and 3GPP technologies for the Radio Access Networks (4G/5G) and New Radio Cloud, virtualization and containerization, especially hyperscaler offerings for Mobile Edge Compute.
  • IEEE 802.1 LAN/MAN bridging technologies, with special emphasis on the TSN work.
  • IETF routing standards, such as IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, SRv6, SR-MPLS, etc.
  • Communications Service Provider (CSP) wireline deployment models, topology, services, operational support systems, access network, outside plant facilities.
  • CSP sales cycle, network equipment standardization process, service deployment and maintenance.
  • Product Life Cycle process to manufacture products for US, Canada and Europe.
  • The lifecycle of a CSP service (T1, Carrier Ethernet, IP VPN, etc).

What would be useful

It would be useful and advantageous for the candidate to have experience in or knowledge of:

  • Wireless services technology and Radio Access Network technology.
  • Project Management.
  • Data Center architecture and edge computing.
  • Industrial 4.0 and 5G applications including ultra-reliable low latency communications (uRLLC).
  • Cyber-physical systems engineering, AI.
  • FPGA architecture, design and implementations.
  • Switching ASIC designs and options on the market.

Must Have

The successful candidate must have:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A high level of comfort presenting to large groups.
  • The ability to convey complex notions/systems/technologies in a way that it is simple to understand.
  • The ability to work independently and be self-motivated and a self-starter.
  • The ability to maintain an excellent rapport with internal and external customers and develop trust.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. Graduate degree a plus.
  • Strong process adherence.
  • Intermediate level skills in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook & Strong Presentation Skills
  • Advanced market knowledge in assigned category.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in decision making; applies knowledge and experience to guide decisions.
