Canoga Perkins manufactures a full line of ultra reliable, versatile Fiber Optic Modems to suit virtually every networking requirement and application. A wide variety of units and interfaces is offered to accommodate more applications than virtually any other vendor. Single mode and multi mode versions operating at 850 nm, 1310 nm, high power 1310 nm and 1550 nm are available to fit your specific application. The units have a unique modular design so interfaces can be swapped in the field.

Data rates range from DC (0 bps) to 44.736 Mbps (T-3) to fit all your diverse application needs. Bit error rates are 10-10 or better to ensure completely reliable communications. Our Fiber Optic Modem interfaces were designed to comply with both EIA/TIA Recommended Standards (RS) and ITU-T (formally CCITT) specifications. All popular electrical interfaces are supported including EIA-232, RS-422, RS-423, RS-530, MIL188, P53 Buffered Interface, TTL, T-1, E-1, T-3, E-3 and V.35 depending on the specific Fiber Optic Modem. A wide range of connectors are offered including MRC-34, DC-37, TwinAx, DB-25, BNC, terminal strip, BJ-77, DA-15 and RJ-48.

On the fiber optic side we provide ST, FC/PC or SC connectors depending on the specific Fiber Optic Modem. For those long haul applications some models offer extreme distance extension of up to 100 Km. Dry contact output and alarm inputs are available on select models to provide you even more information. Fiber Optic Modems are available in rack mount or standalone versions. -48 VDC, 110 VAC or 220 VAC power can be used depending on rackmount or standalone configuration. The units are designed to operate at temperatures of 0º C to 50º C for complete reliability. Redundancy and NEBS Level 3 harsh environment testing certification, which includes Earthquake Zone 4 survival, are available on various models. Management and diagnostics are available on select models so you have complete control and visibility. Top applications for these Fiber Optic Modems are in Service Providers, government and military applications such as C3I and C4I, SAT-COM, Tactical Battlefield Operations, Special Ops tours, the Strategic Command theater, Red and Black operations, secure crypto communications, dignitary and intelligence agency duty.

2345 T3 Fiber Optic Modem (Managed)

The Model 2345 is an SNMP managed multi-featured fiber optic modem that optically extends standard T3 (44.736Mbps) signals over single mode or multimode fiber optic cable. It is designed to enable carriers, government, and private enterprise to expand the capabilities of their existing data communications infrastructure.

2346 T3 Fiber Optic Modem (Managed)

The 2346 T3 modem provides cost effective, small footprint, reliable optical extension of T3/DS3 (44.736 Mbps) signals on single mode or multimode fiber. It is ideal for extending PBX’s, routers, DS3 multiplexers, and ATM switches.

The 2346 retimes and reshapes the DS3 signal allowing it to provide the clean and stable signal needed for longest possible extension distances. Up to 100 km extension is possible over a pair of single mode fiber and up 40km over single strand of single mode fiber. A Multimode version is also available for shorter extensions.

2446 E3 Fiber Optic Modem (Managed)

The 2446 E3 modem provides cost effective, small footprint, reliable optical extension of E3 (34.368 Mbps) signals on single mode or multimode fiber. It is ideal for extending PBX’s, routers, E3 multiplexers, and ATM switches.
