Access Length Aggregation NID – Model 9151

In business today, effective information management is often the key to success. Interruptions to the digital lifeline to a business has a negative and expensive impact. The 9151 Access Link Aggregation NID decreased the chance of expensive outages by providing redundant network and customer links, redundant power, individual interface modules and comprehensive management.

IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation is applied independently on the network and customer links. The Network Service link the Customer Interface link receive equal protection. Network Access is protected from fiber and core switch port outages and independently, the link from the customer's switch to the NID is independently protected for hardware failures of the customer's equipment to accidental disconnects of the UTP cable.

9151 Application Overview

Successful service deployment and high customer satisfaction in today's demanding business environment requires an intelligent demarcation device. Diagnostic, network performance and subscriber network/core interoperability and compatibility is a must. The 9151 Access Link Aggregation NID provides all these services and more. The 9151 SNMP management reporting and control of all configuration, status, diagnostic and traffic reporting functions keeps network control informed and services operating.

Deployment Flexibility

Each of the 9151's 4 ports are fully configurable for interface type and function. Individual Interface Modules lets you decide UTP or fiber interface, the speed, and network or customer interface. To help your field techs, LEDs lets them know network and customer port assignments. As shown above, the 9151 NID deploys equally as a Multi-tenant serving up to three independent customer links and as a Protected Services Terminating Unit.

Protected Services

IEEE 802.3ad Aggregation protects network access by providing link redundancy with sub-second switchover in the event of a link outage. The 9151 aggregates the network and customer links independently. With protection on both connections, customers receives up to 2 Gigabits of traffic bandwidth. The 9151 is also configurable to protect just the network link protected with a single connection to the customer network. This arrangement protects the network access link while limiting the overall customer bandwidth to that of a single port, 10Mbps, 100Mbps or 1Gbps
