10 Gigabit Metro Ethernet Access Device – Model 9160

Remotely distributing services to multiple subscribers, users and devices, is often problematic for Service Providers. The ideal product for this link is the wrong one for that one. The 9160 10 Gigabit Metro Ethernet Access Device has been created specifically for the distribution and termination of Multi-tenant and Distributed Ethernet Services. Flexibility built into the 9155 allows configuration of Network and User Interface types and numbers needed for each specific deployment. 100Mbps, 300 Mbps, Gigabit, 4 Gigabit, redundant Network Access needed? IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation provides bandwidth stitching and interface redundancy that is transparent to the user. Combination of UTP and Optical extension interfaces to the users needed? Plug-in and configure the appropriate interface as needed.

Value to service offering is enhanced with comprehensive SNMP Management and user interfacing functions. Redundancy in power, network links and user links allow you to provide the high availability Ethernet Services your customer's demand and expect.

9160 Application Overview

Intelligent demarcation to your customers is just the beginning of the 9155 Metro Ethernet Access Device services. Designed specifically for terminating and distributing Ethernet and IP Services, the 9160's configuration flexibility allows operation as a local Multi-tenant Demarcation Device as well as a Edge Service Distributor, or a hybrid of both. The 4 single Port Interface Modules and the Octal Port Interface Module support UTP, Multimode Optical and Single Mode Optical interfaces, including CWDM and BIDI at Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet speeds. With the 10 Gigabit Ethernet Network Link, you can supply contention free network access to all subscribers. With the IEEE 802.3ad Aggregation you can supply multi-gigabit bandwidth to the subscriber or protect the part of the service most likely to go down, the customer's cable.

The user ports have SX, LX, and extended reach optics available for local or remote connections. CWDM and BIDI optics are also supported. This give the 9160 the flexibility for Multi-tenant Demarcation Device and POP site distribution applications, or a hybrid of the two. In-band SNMPv3 provides the security and management of all configuration, status and diagnostic functions needed to keep critical, high revenue services running and customers satisfied.
