Senior Software Engineer – Networking

Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced software engineer professional to join our Product Development team, and work on our cutting edge 5G Fronthaul and Backhaul Ethernet transport products. This position requires a person who can demonstrate in depth expertise in networking technologies, is a self-motivated, fast learner and is highly competent in developing and innovative software solutions for the emerging 5G markets.

What you’ll do

  • Software development programming over the full development life cycle, including design, code and test. Create new code and troubleshoot existing code.
  • Provides guidance to other team members in research and development activities
  • Own the key algorithm and core technology design which leading to competitive system architecture design and delivery.
  • Ensure that software meets all the specification requirements. Participate in design and code reviews.
  • Document, reproduce, and resolve defects
  • Support the integration and formal testing of the software as deployed on customer systems.

What we’re looking for

  • Proficiency in telecom concepts, networks and protocols. Solid technical understanding of Layer 2 Ethernet switching technologies, network timing distribution, IEEE 1588 and SyncE
  • Experience with C/C++ in a real-time multi-threaded/multi-tasking Linux environment
  • Knowledge of 5G standards and technologies, such as eCPRI, vRAN, and Time Sensitive Networks
  • Practical experience and and knowledge of Linux architecture and Kernel driver design principles
  • Working knowledge of Yocto or similar tools for Linux based embedded distributions
  • Experience with XML, NETCONF, YANG and related technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must Have

Experience:  Over 6 years hands on professional experience design and development of enterprise or carrier grade switches, routers or LTE/5G equipment. 

Education:   Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.  Graduate degree a plus.

Software Engineer – Linux Development

What you’ll do

  • Software development programming over the full development life cycle, including design, code and test. Create new code and troubleshoot existing code.
  • Ensure that software meets all the specification requirements. Participate in design and code reviews.
  • Document, reproduce, and resolve defects
  • Write, develop and review test plans, test scenarios, and test cases
  • Support the integration and formal testing of the software as deployed on customer systems.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience with C/C++ in a real-time multi-threaded/multi-tasking Linux environment
  • Experience with Pyhton programming and Linux shell scripting
  • Proficiency in telecom concepts, networks, protocols, IPC, TCP/IP stack, sockets, etc.
  • Knowledge of ARM and x86 embedded architecture, and kernel level PCI / PCI express communication
  • Practical experience and knowledge of Linux architecture and Kernel driver design principles
  • Working knowledge of Yocto or similar tools for Linux based embedded distributions
  • Experience with XML, NETCONF, YANG and related technologies

Hardware Design Engineer 

Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic hardware engineer professional to join our Product Development team, and work on our cutting edge 5G Fronthaul and Backhaul Ethernet transport products. This position requires a person who can demonstrate expertise in FPGA design & development, high speed digital design, knowledge of several telecom technologies, can operate under minimal supervision, is a self-motivated fast learner, and is highly competent in developing innovative hardware solutions for the emerging 5G markets.

What you’ll do

  • Participate in FPGA development full life cycle, including high level design, HDL coding, simulation, timing closure and system integration and test.
  • Participate in hardware development full life cycle, including high level design, schematic capture, layout support, prototype bring-up, system integration and test.
  • Ensure that hardware meets all the specification requirements. Participate in design reviews.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience with Verilog/VHDL for Xilinx/Altera devices and their compilation/simulation software suites.
  • Knowledge of high speed digital design principals.
  • Solid understand of Signal Integrity and EMI with high-speed signals, PCB stack-up.
  • Knowledge of PCI, I2C, SPI, and various CPUs, DSPs, PHYs.
  • Track record of taking successful and reliable designs from concept to production.
  • Experience is preferred in, PLL, power supplies and optical transceivers.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and familiar with testing instruments.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).

Must Have

 Business Development Coordinator

Job Summary

Canoga Perkins is seeking a talented and passionate Business Development Coordinator to drive the sales of advanced 5G Fronthaul and Backhaul Ethernet transport products. The right candidate will have strong research and writing skills. They must be able to collaborate with internal and external business partners, sales and customers and well as internal marketing and R&D teams. This position requires a person who can demonstrate knowledge of telecom technologies, can sometimes operate under minimal supervision, and able to juggle multiple projects. The candidate must be able to execute strategies to foster new business growth in the emerging 5G markets.

What you’ll do

  • Work closely with product/sales leadership to implement and execute strategies to developing new business growth for 5G Anyhaul Transport Product line
  • Proactively developing/managing an opportunity pipeline.
  • Business forecasting and analysis on current/future trends
  • Developing use cases that will take advantage of future private 5G networks to complement/supplement or create brand new revenues streams for Canoga Perkins.
  • Write and maintain marketing and product collaterals (white papers, product sheets, etc).
  • Provide competitive intelligence – feature set, roadmap, pricing information to product management teams
  • Identify and attend tradeshows and other business functions to keep abreast of developments in the marketplace, to find potential new business opportunities
  • Update and Maintain Canoga’s digital presence (website updates, social media)
  • Planning, developing and working with the marketing communications team on the execution and sustainment for all elements of go-to-market initiatives including: product launches, market research & analysis, outbound messaging, value propositions, differentiation and thought-leadership communications activity
  • Identify potential third-party partnerships and licensing opportunities

What we’re looking for

Experience

  • Experience working with service provider/cableco/telco organizations and related vendors
  • Experience with business development in the Industrial Enterprise space preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and experience with customer presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain extensive customer relationship
  • Experience with creating and maintaining digital presence
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel, and Project is preferred

Must Have

Education:   Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or Telecommunications Technology.  MBA a plus.

Pertinent experience:   1-4 years of relevant technical and sales experience in the telecom or Industrial Automation industry. Background in business development is a plus.

Language requirements:  Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.  Other languages are considered an asset.

Travel Requirements:  This position requires regular travel across the USA (30% +). Some international travel is also required.
